The Sound of Music is an American 1965 musical drama movie which stars Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer. The whole was a more modern story telling way of showcasing the book ‘The Story of the Trapp Family Singers’ which was written by Maria Von Trapp, which were her memoirs and have been fictionalized for the movie. The overall premise to the movie is that of a young woman who leaves an Austrian convent to become a governess to the seven children of a naval officer widower. The Sound of Music itself was directed and produced by Robert Wise and the music composer for most songs and lyrics was done by Richard Rogers.
