Rocky is an American film, although the Rocky saga is known worldwide and front stars Sylvester Stallone as an uneducated but kind hearted debt collector in Philadelphia named Rocky Balboa. The premise of this massive blockbuster movie is that of Rocky Balboa being a small time boxer and before he knows it is scheduled to take part in a boxing match against Apollo Creed who is played by Carl Weathers. In the film Rocky Balboa is also given a nickname which sticks instantly and continues through the several other Rocky films, which is The Italian Stallion.

As well as Rocky being a huge blockbuster success, Rocky also caused a lot of publicity for its most notable and most famous movie theme song. Although throughout the Rocky films there are several different songs, the one that everyone remembers is Eye of the Tiger and is sung by an American rock band called Survivor. Not many people know this but this song was written purely at the request of Sylvester Stallone. Without a doubt if you were to ask anyone what the theme song is for this, they would say Eye of the Tiger.
