Heartbeat is a British police drama which was set in the 1960’s and was created by Keith Richardson and Gerry Mill. Heartbeat was a hugely successful British police drama which lasted and incredible 372 episodes over the space of 18 series. In the first series of Heartbeat we see the story line of a young married couple PC Nick Rowan and his wife Dr Kate Rowan just after arriving in a small North Riding village after living originally in London. In the first series we experience their life and how the other villages get to know them and come to accept them as part of the community.

About The Heartbeat Movie Theme Song

The main character at the very beginning in Heartbeat was PC Nick Rowan who was played by Nick Berry who is both an actor and singer and has also played Simon Wicks in Eastenders. Nevertheless Berry in Heartbeat was not only the main character but also the voice behind the infamous opening TV theme song which was entitled ‘Heartbeat’. This song of course is a cover of the 1958 single by Buddy Holly of the same name.
