Heartbeat is a British police drama which was set in the 1960’s and was created by Keith Richardson and Gerry Mill. Heartbeat was a hugely successful British police drama which lasted and incredible 372 episodes over the space of 18 series. In the first series of Heartbeat we see the story line of a young married couple PC Nick Rowan and his wife Dr Kate Rowan just after arriving in a small North Riding village after living originally in London. In the first series we experience their life and how the other villages get to know them and come to accept them as part of the community.
