“Apocalypse Now” is a movie about a time when war between Vietnam and United States is at its heights. The U.S. Army Captain Willard is sent by Colonel and a General to conduct a successful mission that is basically non-existent in the books. Willard learns that the army wants William Kurtz, a Green Beret Colonel, diminished off the face of the earth. However, he learns some other discoveries about the individual as he is on a patrol boat, including a huge fact that he may not be insane as his superiors have made him and themselves convinced. The film follows this story into the Nung River finally, a journey in which the crew encounters casualties. The plot thickens as they become prisoners of Kurtz. “Apocalypse Now” is combination of a war and drama themed movie, and one which will be an up and down story into the Vietnamese war and geography.
