Directed by William Brent Ball, director of “The Devil Inside,” the horror mystery film’s thrilling story line depicts Greta, a young American woman, to signing up for a routine nanny job only to find she is going to be nannying a life-sized boy doll. The parents who are her client seem to be coping with the death of their deceased son from 20 years ago. The English village story setting adds to the drama. Soon after breaking some job rules, Greta seems to start losing it and finds herself believing the doll to be alive. Fans of the dramatic hit show of zombies, “Walking Dead,” can get excited to see a familiar star, Lauren Cohan, as this nanny. The plot of “The Boy” like other horror films is disturbing and edge-of-the-seat suspenseful, but will bring back scary movie fans through its new types of twists.
