Barney and Friends is an American TV children show that spawned a considerable 268 episodes each being around 30 minutes long. Barney and Friends was aimed and children aged 2 to 5 years old and first appeared on our screen in April 1992. Barney is a purple anthropomorphic Tyrannosaurus Rex, which with the aid of song, dance and games conveys educational messages to its target audience. In the show Barney is in fact a small plush toy, but the children in the show use their imagination and he comes to live as well as his familiar friends Baby Bop, B.J and Riff. Barney was voiced by Bob West and cast members included Selena Gomez and Dem Lovato, who became best friends and now became global sensations with Disney as well as extremely talented musicians and actresses.
