Death in Paradise is a British crime drama, but with a hint of comedy throughout with the dialog. The television series was created by Robert Thorogood and originally starred Ben Miller and Sara Martins as Detective Inspector Richard Poole and Detective Sergeant Camille Bordey respectively. The star Ben Miller was replaced in the first episode of series 3, by being murdered this allowing a new role in the form of Kris Marshall playing Detective Inspector Humphrey Goodman. The overall synopsis of the show is that an Englishman who comes to Saint Marie is out of his depth in terms of culture but a brilliant detective, always solving the cases of murder that just keep happening.
