New Tricks is a British comedy drama that revolves around the lives and cases of members of The Metropolitan Police Service, the fictional division being Unsolved Crime and Open Case Squad (UCOS). The division was originally lead by DSI Sandra Pullman, played by Amanda Redman, but in more up to date series she has been replaced by DCI Sasha Miller played by Tamzin Outhwaite. The series as a whole features retired police officers who are brought back to solve unsolved cases, and throughout the broadcast we the audience do have some laughs. These laughs notably coming from the character Jerry Standing played by Dennis Waterman, the longest running character in the New Tricks series.
